OATMEAL CAKE
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups of hot water
1 cup of oats
1 cup of white sugar
1 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of salad oil (as my grandma calls it) (actually vegetable oil)
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 Tablespoon of cinnamon
Pour hot water over oats-set aside to cool.
mix together white sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, and eggs. Once oatmeal cools, pour in mixture and set aside. Then measure together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Add this mixture to the oatmeal mixture.
pour into greased pan and bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
FROSTING
Ingredients:
powdered sugar
butter
cinnamon
milk (any type works)
For the frosting you can basically just eyeball it. I personally don't like that much frosting on mine but, you can make as much as you desire.
